After giving birth to a baby, your muscles are tired and your body is sore, and you may have had pain medications that slow your bowels. The first bowel movement you have, usually within 2-3 days, can be daunting! Also, constipation is common. There are some things you can do to help relieve your discomfort, including eating more fibre, taking stool softeners and drinking lots of fluids.
